Calming โ˜•๏ธ Day 6

Welcome!

It’s been a very nice day today. I’ve been hanging out with my son and relaxing. I sure do love the weekends, especially when I can share it with my handsome son.

Until tomorrow…

Happy Anniversary ๐ŸŽ‰ Day 1

Welcome!

I’m starting a Happy Anniversary series this week. I had to begin with an origami dress. If you’ve been following me, you know the origami dress is one of the first cards I ever made and sold on Etsy. I’ve come a long way since that first card, but origami will always be my favorite โค๏ธ

The lighting is a little off on this card. I got wrapped up in watching the finale of American Idol! By the time it was over and I made my card, it was already dusk. It’s ok! I think it still turned out pretty cool.

Until tomorrow (and hopefully better lighting)…

Rugged ๐Ÿค  Day 6

Welcome!

For those of you that do not know me, I started my crafting journey by making origami dresses and shirts to be the focal points of my handcrafted cards. I found origami was a great way to focus my thoughts on one task, which helped reduce my anxiety to manageable levels. I remember getting a MRI and going over and over in my head the process of folding an origami dress.

Happy Saturday to you and yours!

Until tomorrow…

Paper Folding ๐Ÿ“ Day 7

Welcome!

I must admit, I love this card the most of my Paper Folding series. It is a true origami dove and it only took me three tries to get it right ๐Ÿ˜Š

I’m glad I am home and safe; It is blizzard conditions outside. For all of my North friends, I pray you are extra safe today.

Until tomorrow…

Paper Folding ๐Ÿ“ Day 6

Welcome!

Today’s card didn’t start out as a baby card, but a dog card! Oh my goodness, but I just could not figure out how to fold it. So, back to YouTube for a different idea. I found a baby clothes tutorial, which still took a few tries to make, but I finally figured it out.

Next, I decided to use green, glittery embossing powder to jazz up the word, Happy. Nope, it wasn’t embossing powder. It was straight up glitter! I need to do a better job reading the labels.

Finally, I was able to complete the card and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!

Paper Folding ๐Ÿ“ Day 2

Welcome!

Today I would like to share with you a new technique I tried in card making. I’ve combined paper folding with inking.

I initially stamped my image and used color pencils to color her in, but the white background looked too white and severe.

I wanted to soften it up, so I decided to use my distress oxides and a simple cotton ball as my blending tool. I absolutely love how it turned out! I completed my card with extra interest by creating a 3D skirt.

I plan on sharing another example with you later this week!

Paper folding ๐Ÿ“ Day 1

Welcome!

I’m excited to share a new series of handcrafted cards with you this week. When I first began my card-making journey in 2015, I created origami cards, specifically paper dresses. This week, I am going back to my roots and plan on sharing both true origami designs as well as paper folding designs. If you use scissors and/or glue, it’s no longer considered origami.

I hope you enjoy the new series!

Until tomorrow…
