Happy Birthday 🎈 Day 5

Today I would love to share with you this fun shaker card. I have not made a shaker card for over a year, but I found an informative video by Lorrie Nunemaker which simplified the process. You can view her video by clicking on the link below.

I was able to use my Cricut Explorer to get the perfect cuts. I took Lorrie’s advice and used fun foam to pop up the card instead of foam tape. I haven’t used fun foam before and I loved it for this project.

For the shaker bits, I used sequins I purchased for my daughter years ago! I’m so happy I kept them

For the strings, I used twine I purchased from Michael’s and adhered them to the card by using art glitter glue from Amazon.

My ”oops” moment came after I filled the shaker with sequins, aligned cardstock over the opening and then proceeded to turn the card over to make sure everything looked centered. Can you figure out which step I forgot? Yep, I forgot to adhere the cardstock over the opening! Sequins went flying everywhere 😊

What’s one of your most recent ”oops” moments?

Keep crafting,

Happy Birthday 🎈Day 4

I would love to share with you a version of the birthday card I spotlighted earlier this week. In today’s version, I used a beautiful shimmery purple ribbon and a white button. I still used my favorite birthday embossing folder and also used kraft paper for the card base.

Which version do you prefer? The version from earlier this week with the shimmery silver ribbon and vintage black button or today’s version?

I admit I prefer the earlier version, but still, I believe this is a fun card too!

Keep crafting,

Happy Birthday 🎈Day 3

Today I would like to show you a fun birthday card full of an assortment of elements. First I stamped a few flowers with various patterns and in different colors. I then stamped out a large Birthday sentiment and inked the paper to create interest. Finally, I attached a cute balloon cut from glitter paper and attached some twine to create the string. I popped up the balloon and sentiment to give the card dimension and more interest.

I’m having fun with these birthday cards. Is there a special birthday card design you would like to see?

Happy crafting!

❤️Becky ❤️

Happy Birthday 🎈 Day 2

Tonight I would like to share with you a Pinterest inspired Birthday card. I used my favorite birthday embossing folder in my cuddlebug to create the perfect background. I then used some shimmering ribbon and a vintage black button to complete the card front. To finish off the card, I adhered the card front to brown kraft cardstock.

Share with me your latest Pinterest inspired gem!

(I must give my husband props for taking these photos!)

Happy Birthday 🎈Day 1

Happy New Year! I am ready to take on the challenge of blogging each day in 2019 about a handcrafted card I made. My plan is to provide you with theme based stories. This first week will be about birthday cards.

Today, I would like to share with you a 6×6 interactive birthday card. I received my inspiration from watching Maymay Helms. Here is the video tutorial I followed:

It took me a couple of tries, but it finally turned out pretty cute.

Join me on my crafting journey through 2019! I’m excited to share my inspiration and ideas with you.

Hot Cocoa Packs – Part 2

I finished the hot cocoa pack order for my coworker. She requested 35 sets! She was thrilled with the finished result. Reach out if you would like to hear about my process. You can also click on the link below for what inspired this project.

I am off to the airport to pick up my son for Christmas! Comment below and share your special holiday plans.

Hot Cocoa Packs

Good evening!

I would like to share with you my good news!  But first, I have to give you some backstory. I watched a YouTube video by Amber at

and learned how to make these adorable hot cocoa packs for my craftfair. Well, I only sold a few of them and was rather discouraged. Today, I received an email from one of my coworkers and she ordered 35 packs!  She wants them for her son’s kindergarten class next Friday.  I’m so excited to fill her order. I will make sure to post a picture of the finished lot.

Never be discouraged with yourself!  You are amazing!

Flower Magnets

Tonight I am absolutely thrilled!   I made 10 packs of these flower magnets and I sold all of them!  They were so much fun to make. I used my cricut to cut out the flowers and then hand rolled each one. I glued each flower onto a magnet. Finally, I packaged them in groups of 5 for sale

I enjoyed mixing patterned paper with plain paper for different looks. I especially enjoyed using flower patterns. Some of these combinations were pretty spectacular.

The challenging part was to keep the magnets from attracting to each other. I would arrange the flowers the way I wanted to package them and then..POW!  They all flew together in one big clump!

Journal pages

Good evening!

Tonight I’m sharing with you a few of the papers I created for my journal pages. First I coffee died several papers by brewing up some coffee in my Keurig. I soaked the pages in a pan for several hours and then I drained the coffee. I tried to pick up the pieces, but they started to rip.  I let them sit overnight and in the morning they were still damp. I popped them in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Oh my goodness, when they came out the texture was perfect and they made a beautifully crinkling sound. If you have ever coffee died paper, you know what I’m talking about!

I also used my daughter’s water color paint and had fun painting a few more sheets of paper. The coolest part was when I used alcohol inks on heavy water color paper. I intially sprayed the paper with water and then spritzed the different alcohol inks on the paper. I used my heat gun to move the liquid around. I had so much fun playing!

Other papers I used were from an old calendar, a bag I got from Cossetta’s Italian Market and also a flyer I received about apples at the MN State Fair.

What kind of papers do you use for your journals?
