Journal pages

Good evening!

Tonight I’m sharing with you a few of the papers I created for my journal pages. First I coffee died several papers by brewing up some coffee in my Keurig. I soaked the pages in a pan for several hours and then I drained the coffee. I tried to pick up the pieces, but they started to rip.  I let them sit overnight and in the morning they were still damp. I popped them in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Oh my goodness, when they came out the texture was perfect and they made a beautifully crinkling sound. If you have ever coffee died paper, you know what I’m talking about!

I also used my daughter’s water color paint and had fun painting a few more sheets of paper. The coolest part was when I used alcohol inks on heavy water color paper. I intially sprayed the paper with water and then spritzed the different alcohol inks on the paper. I used my heat gun to move the liquid around. I had so much fun playing!

Other papers I used were from an old calendar, a bag I got from Cossetta’s Italian Market and also a flyer I received about apples at the MN State Fair.

What kind of papers do you use for your journals?
